Commexis Cast Daily – Nov. 16, 2017: You Check Your Phone At Least 47 Times a Day, Say Latest Deloitte Numbers

Today’s Commexis Cast discusses eMarkter and MediaPost’s breakdowns of Deloitte’s latest “Global Mobile Media Survey” on mobile usage. eMarketer reported “most people check their device approximately 47 times per day” with younger audiences checking their phone 86 times per day. The Cast share some anecdotal evidence that maybe these numbers are much higher than they seem.  And to no surprise, smartphones are almost always by a consumers side when shopping, and doing various other activities. Check the image below for more.

MediaPost’s Tanya Gazdik focused on the mobile carrier statistics in her Deloitte write-up. “Sixty-three percent of consumers have visited a carrier store in the last year,” she writes, “making retail stores an important connection to the mobile consumer, and almost one in five consumers has visited a carrier story in the last month.” In addition, “[n]early two-thirds of consumers still replace their phones every two years, despite the lack of device subsidies,” the study states.

These numbers are great for business, but what do you need to go forward? The Cast weighs in.
