#CommexisConvo – Emily Frantz, Account Management Intern!

Welcome to #CommexisConvo! Each week we’ll be featuring profiles of the Commexis employees who make your digital marketing campaigns soar! Today we’re speaking with our new Account Management Intern Emily! She’s a Junior at Boston University, and we’re excited for her to learn all about the ins-and-outs of an agency.

Question (Q): Do you have any pets? If you do, tell me about them.

Answer (A): I have two cats, and I’m a little crazy about them to be honest. Their names are Ty and Leo, and my unbiased opinion is that they’re the most entertaining cats on the planet.

Q: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

A: Copenhagen and just the Nordic Countries in general are at the top of my bucket list. My friend just studied abroad there and the scenery and history seems incredible. I’m also planning to study abroad in England next year, so I’ve been researching it a lot.

Q: What celebrity would you rate as a perfect 10?

A: Donald Glover. I’ve been in love with him since his 30 Rock days.

Q: What’s the worst commercial or ad you’ve recently seen? Why is it so bad?

A: It’s not that recent, but the Mountain Dew “puppy monkey baby” still haunts me. That is really an image you can’t get out of your head once you see it.

Q: What drew you to apply to Commexis?

A: A piece of advice my professor gave me on my internship search was to look for companies where I would be doing real work and not getting coffee, and to work somewhere I could explore all of my interests. I knew I wanted to stay at home for another summer, too. Commexis really fit all of my needs.

Q: What are you looking forward to learning about the most during your time at Commexis?

A: I’m really just beginning to dive into my major, so I’m most excited to explore agency life as a whole. I want to be as well-rounded as possible post-graduation, so I’m happy to learn a little bit of everything.

Q: You’ve had a some prior experience working on social media campaigns and doing design work. Can you tell me a little about that, and why you’re looking to learn more about account and project management?

A: Last summer I got to run social media accounts for two companies, and it was awesome to experiment with content creation. As for design, I mainly just taught myself and do little projects for fun. I started by making stickers and cards for my friends, but then my projects grew once people found out I could use design software. I also took a class on HTML last year, so making my own website was probably my favorite design work I’ve done. As much as I like design, I don’t want to pursue it professionally. I wanted to learn more about management because I like working with people to solve a problem, and I love the idea of helping a creative team execute their work.

Q: What are you hoping to do once you graduate?

A: I want to work for a company that is doing really fun, creative work, and hopefully I can stay in Boston.
