#CommexisConvo – Matthew McGrorty, Videographer!

Welcome to #CommexisConvo! Each week we’ll be featuring profiles of the Commexis employees who make your digital marketing campaigns soar! Today we’re speaking with our Videographer/Podcaster Matt:

Question (Q): What’s your favorite movie, and why?

Answer (A): There are a lot of movies I absolutely adore, but Mad Max: Fury Road is probably my favorite. I think I saw it in theaters about 3 times? I couldn’t get enough of it. There are a lot of reasons why it’s my favorite, but there are two in particular that come to mind: the writing and the cinematography. The plot is set-up perfectly, and easy to understand. The genius of it really is the simplicity, and George Miller hits it out of the park. Dialogue is somewhat scarce, but every word is concise, powerful, and precisely used. I also love the themes presented, but that’s a whole other question, LOL! The cinematography is gorgeous and functional. Miller had every shot center-framed so the audience could quickly understand what was happening between the fast action cuts. Genius.

Q: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

A: I’m not sure! I’m not much of a traveler hahaha. Japan would be cool. Ireland seems really nice. I saw a documentary about Skiathos, Greece which has a huge cat shelter, so maybe there to see (and maybe adopt) a cute cat!

Q: What’s the best part of being a videographer?

A: I love being able to plan out and tell a story through my craft. Fictional stories are fun to make because creativity can run wild, but telling biographical stories, such as in corporate video, is also a treat because I get to hear about a brand or person’s story and think of the most effective way to help tell that story.

Q: What’s the best part of working at Commexis?

A: The best part of working at Commexis is how kind and team oriented everyone is. I’ve worked at jobs in the past where coworkers have been unfriendly or downright nasty to others and I couldn’t stand it. I’m glad that here everyone is really great and we all get along really well both in collaborating for client projects and in general.

Thanks to Matt for taking the time to answer our questions! Have any questions you’d like to hear our employees answer? Let us know, and check us out next week for more!
